Interpreting Duty Service

Available in the following locations:

Service Update

Service is continuing to take bookings if requested. If it is essential, we can deliver face to face interpreting but in this current situation will be offering online interpreting either via Teams, Facetime, Zoom, WhatsApp or Messenger.

Bookings staff are working from home. Freelance interpreters have been updated on our service and a list of those who can work online from home has been drawn up. NHS Lothian are aware of our ability to offer online provision.

BSL Interpreter duty:

Our Interpreter duty service will continue to run at the normal times, but instead of drop-in sessions at the Deaf Action office, we will be using WhatsApp video calls.

Interpreting duty service will be available at the following times:

Every Tuesday: 2pm – 4pm

Every Thursday: 10am – 12pm

To book a slot for interpreter duty, email bookings@deafaction.org or text 07860018761

The interpreter will video call you through WhatsApp at your slot time.
