Health Project

Available in the following locations:
  • Edinburgh and The Lothians

Our Health Project supports members of the deaf* community to make healthy lifestyle choices.

Funded by NHS Lothian, this project delivers health education and awareness through seminars, courses and information materials. One of the ways we raise awareness is by organising a programme of BSL accessible Health Seminars. Some of the most popular Health Seminars which we have run in the past are Stroke Awarness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Depression Awareness.

The Health Project also runs courses that encourage a healthy and active lifestyle. In the past we have run Zumba, Tone, Stretch and relax and cookery classes.

Events:

Saturday 16th February – Mindfulness Workshop

We plan our Health Seminars based on feedback from deaf people. If you would like to know more about a particular health or lifestyle-related topic, please get in touch with the Health Access Officer Leah Francisco at leah.Francisco@deafaction.org  to let her know.
