Service Update – COVID-19
We will maintain service for our most vulnerable existing clients. Repairs can be done if the client lives on their own for the purposes of: –
- maintaining access to information (Television amplifier or induction loop)
- continued access to your property (doorbells) – access for carers, deliveries of medication etc.
- maintaining smoke alarms (Health & Safety issue) if installed by Deaf Action.
We are unable to see any clients who live with another person or in any kind of sheltered housing/care home.
Equipment funded by your council
If you are*deaf or have been diagnosed by a medical professional with a hearing loss and live in the Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian or Aberdeenshire, we can provide free specialist equipment on behalf of your council on long term loan.
Deaf Action will come to your home to assess what type of equipment would best suite your hearing loss before installing it for you. This may include:
- Doorbells and Entry systems
- Television Amplifier
- Induction Loop Systems
- Vibrating Alarm Clock
