Deafblind communicators or interpreters provide access to communication for Deafblind people using the deafblind communication manual alphabet, the block alphabet or any other preferred method of communication.
Deafblindness is often referred to as dual sensory loss or multi-sensory loss. It is estimated that there are over 5,000 people in Scotland with a combined visual and hearing loss. Many deafblind people will have some level of hearing and/ or vision.
