- Edinburgh & Lothians
Service Update during COVID-19:
We are offering a remote social work duty service every Thursday morning from 10am-12pm through facetime. Please email email@example.com to arrange a facetime call.
If this time does not suit, you can make an appointment by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 0131 556 3128.
Our duty sessions can be useful for:
• discussing a problem
• explaining something you don’t understand
• concessionary travel passes
• completing forms
• benefits and money
• Referral to other services
If you think you may benefit from our adult social work assessment and Care Management Service in Edinburgh or the Lothians, you can refer yourself on the details above. Alternatively, you can ask your local social work department or health care professional to contact us on your behalf. We also accept referrals from family members or friends on your behalf, providing you are happy for them to do so.
Once we understand what it is you need we will contact you to arrange a social work assessment. This assessment will determine the best action to take.
What to expect
After your first assessment you will be informed what will happen next. Your referral may be dealt with in different ways:
- put on a waiting list for a social worker
- allocated to a social worker
- referred to another service for example a health worker or our equipment service
- no further action
Allocation of a social worker is dependent upon the availability of social workers. Our social workers are all registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and adhere to a strict code of confidentiality.
