Six week taster course – Introduction to BSL

Available in the following locations:

This 6 week taster course will give you an introduction to British Sign Language in a no pressure environment.  This is the perfect starter course for those who are not sure about committing to the full SQA courses and would like to try it out before moving on to a full course**.

Course content

  • Week 1 – Introducing yourself
  • Week 2 – Family
  • Week 3 – Live where?
  • Week 4 – Travelling & Weather
  • Week 5 –At the café and general hospitality
  • Week 6 – Storytelling

 **This course does not qualify you to go straight in to SQA Level 1. The progression from this is the SQA Introduction to BSL course.


This course costs £95.  For all applications (excluding work sponsored places), a non-refundable deposit of £20 must be received with the application in order to secure a place on the course, with the remaining balance due for payment 1 week before the class start date.
