Deaf Festival Postponed

News

It is with great disappointment that we announce that the Deaf Festival 2020 will not go ahead as planned this August. The Edinburgh Fringe announced yesterday that they have come to the difficult conclusion that the festival will be cancelled due to the present circumstances.

Whilst this is not the news we would be hoping for, our thoughts are with all the front-line staff working tirelessly and those affected by this pandemic.

Philip Gerrard, CEO stated: Whilst it is disappointing the postponement of launching Scotland’s first Deaf Festival, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Heriot Watt students, Solar Bear, volunteers and members of staff for supporting this new initiative. Our thoughts are also with artists throughout the globe whose industry are facing extremely difficult times’.

Deaf Action look forward to welcoming you back though our doors next year as a fringe venue and for the time being everyone’s safety must come first.  #StayHomeStaySafe
